Alexandre Jouveaux and Maryse Chatelin craft wines of extraordinary purity in the heart of Burgundy’s wine landscape, reflecting the unique characteristics of the Mâconnais region with precision and originality. Together, they cultivate two and a half hectares of old vines spread over small parcels of mostly limestone soil. Their favourite plots are those that display a diverse ecosystem, particularly those surrounded by woodland. In the vineyard, they practise healthy viticulture with precise tillage. They do not use any chemical fertilisers or weedkillers. In the winery, skill and patience go hand in hand. The hand-picked grapes are pressed directly in large old wooden tuns with a capacity exceeding 1,000 litres, where the wines remain untouched until they are bottled. Each year, Alexandre and Maryse release no more than a few thousand bottles. This intimate production is a masterpiece of pleasure that connoisseurs of authentic Burgundy wines are quick to acquire.
