Viognier blossoms beautifully in this rich and creamy cuvée, with appetising notes of white peach, pineapple and orange blossom.

More info

Historically, the Alexandrins estate had vineyards in Saint Joseph and Crozes Hermitage. Recently, however, they acquired 280 quare metres of old vines on granite soil in the hamlet of La Caille, just north of the village of Condrieu. This small appellation on the right bank of the Rhône, which almost disappeared in the 1950s, is the home to the Viognier grape variety, which produces playfully aromatic and smooth wines.
This cuvée is the perfect embodiment of this variety. The grapes were harvested just before becoming fully ripe to preserve their acidity, which is sometimes lacking in Viognier, giving this wine a bright colour and a charming bouquet of white peach, pineapple and orange blossom. The mouthfeel is rich, creamy and well balanced through to the final notes. This is a beautiful wine to be enjoyed young, and pairs exquisitely with langoustines or lamb curry.
