Saint-Joseph Le Berceau Bernard Gripa (Domaine) 2017
The wine
This Saint-Joseph white is fermented 50% in tanks and 50% in barrels and matured on its fine lees. It has an appealingly intense aromatic bouquet of yellow stone fruits, white flowers, and sweet almonds. Its full palate is balanced by a delightful fresh quality that also gives the wine vivacity, tension and length. It will make a wonderful pairing with scallops, seafood risottos or hard cheeses.
About the Producer Bernard Gripa
In the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation, in Mauves to be precise, Bernard Gripa and his son Fabrice are making exceptional, rare wines from this appellation, as well as from the neighbouring Saint-Péray. Father and son favour manual, carefully-tended viticulture. Their white wines are sought-after for their exceptional texture, pleasant bitterness and rich aromas. The reds are rounded, dense and, notably, have a perfect balance and lovely freshness on the palate.
