A fresh, concentrated cuvée, reflecting the exceptional aromatic potential of Chenin.
More infoLegend has it that Chenin, a grape variety native to Anjou, was cultivated by the monks of Saint-Maur Abbey, located between Angers and Saumur. Meticulously tended following organic and biodynamic viticulture methods, the Chenin vines thrive on soils consisting of sand, clay and limestone. Each vine, on average 80 years old, is ideally exposed to the south. The grapes are hand-picked at peak ripeness and carefully selected on a sorting table right in the vineyard. In the winery, half the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in vats and the other half in casks. The cuvée is then aged without racking before being bottled. The golden colour reveals a rich bouquet characterised by delicious notes of yellow fruit. On the palate, a burst of freshness balances with great concentration, culminating in a sweet, acidic finish.
About the Producer La Grange Tiphaine
Domaine Grange Tiphaine is a 15-hectare family domain split between Montlouis-sur-Loire, Touraine and Touraine-Ambroise. The story of the domain goes back to the 19th century, when the Delecheneau family grew a variety of crops on the land. The domain was handed down from generation to generation, until Coralie and Damien Delecheneau’s arrival in 2002. They had met in Bordeaux. Damien manages the vine and the cellar, while Coralie takes care of admin and sales. The domain obtained organic certification in 2007 and biodynamic in 2014. The domain owns excellent vineyards of old vines, of which some are 100 years old. The work in the cellar is precise, and élevages are carried out in concrete vats and old casks. Wines from La Grange Tiphaine have beautiful purity and elegance. A rising star of the Loire.
