More info

A relative of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Rose is a very rare grape variety producing grapes varying from pale pink to bronze. The estate produces a fine, fruity cuvée of great purity, with a subtle blend of 35% Chardonnay. The Sauvignon Rose and Chardonnay parcels enjoy the benefits of biodynamic viticulture. All chemical fertilisers and weedkillers are banned to favour a gentler, more environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. In the winery, the harvested fruit are vinified separately, with as little intervention as possible. The Chardonnay grapes undergo fermentation and ageing in demi-muids and Burgundy casks.
The clean, fresh and elegant bouquet reveals elegant fruit aromas combined with great freshness. The delicate, fruity palate leads delicately to a deliciously long, flavoursome finish. This cuvée can easily be cellared for several years.

About the Producer Clos du Tue-Boeuf

The origins of Clos du Tue-Boeuf in les Montils can be traced back to the Middle Ages. The Puzelat family, who have been running the property since 1990, also have a long established presence in the region (from the 15th century). The vineyard’s 16 hectares of flint clay on Blois chalk straddle Touraine and Cheverny. The vines have been cultivated organically since 1996 and vinification processes are low intervention and avoid the use of additives (indigenous yeasts only and very low doses of sulphites). The Puzelat brothers, Jean-Marie and Thierry, work with nature to create fine and very easy-to-drink organic wines with plenty of character.
