A little-known yet promising young winemaker crafting stunning Gamay.
More infoIn becoming a winemaker, Jean Wambergue realised his childhood dream. His sensitivity to climate challenges and the health concerns associated with conventional agriculture led him to adopt an organic approach right from the start of his winegrowing career. In 2022, the estate launched its first wine, an expressive red named “Frière”. This wine, made in accordance with the organic conversion process, reflects Jean Wambergue’s approach, which favours winemaking that preserves the authenticity and freshness of aromas. So how does it taste? The nose is powerful, with notes of rose and ferrous hints. On the palate, the experience is quite different. It’s juicy and refreshing, with morello cherry aromas and a peppery finish that peps up the wine.
A perfect accompaniment to meats in sauce and summer barbecues, but also delicious with soft cow’s milk cheese, such as Saint-Nectaire.
