The domain's landmark cuvée full of freshness and elegance.
More infoThe domain’s landmark cuvée. This wine has a deep colour and an intense nose of red fruits and spices. On the palate, the amphora cuvée is easy to drink and the tannins are perfectly integrated. We find notes of red fruits and a wonderfully delicate profile. It will pair nicely with fish. The old Niellucciu vines are planted on the Ravagnola parcel by the sea. The clay and chalk terroir offers all the freshness the vineyard needs in the summer. There are two macerations, a cold one for 3 days and a room-temperature one for 12. The wine is then matured in 160-litre amphora pots.
About the Producer Clos Marfisi
Clos Marfisi has been part of the Patrimonio landscape since its first harvest in 1870. Five generations later, Julie Marfisi and her brother Mathieu grow around 15 hectares of organic vines covering three terroirs: Ravagnola (10 hectares of clay-chalk slopes by the sea), Gritole (2 hectares of clay, chalk and alluvium) and Grotta di Sole (2.5 hectares of clay, chalk and schist). The extractions are particularly gentle and maturation takes place in inert containers (steel, concrete, demi-muids) in order to conserve the fruit and its freshness. Both the reds and whites produced at this domain have a remarkable finesse.
