Arguably one of Italy’s most prestigious and flavoursome red wines.
More infoSangiovese, the king of Tuscany grapes, is known as Brunello in the Montalcino region. The grapes are harvested by hand at peak ripeness and rigorously sorted to ensure that only the best clusters are kept. In the winery, the maceration and fermentation processes are performed at low temperature, in concrete vats, for around 40 days. Lastly, the cuvée is then carefully aged in ‘foudres’ (large capacity barrels) for 24 months before bottling.
The ruddy colour is sublimated by a bewitching bouquet, with fragrances of plum, blackberry, cherry and spice mingling with subtle notes of cedar, leather and tobacco. The full-bodied, powerful palate unveils a powerful array of wild fruit and pepper aromas, complemented by fine hints of vanilla and chocolate. This prestigious aromatic palette promises long ageing potential.
