A unique, serious, robust style that will delight the most fervent Syrah lovers.
More infoChristophe Baron’s vineyard, located in Washington State in the heart of the Walla Walla Valley, began following organic viticultural methods in 1997. The estate also became the first in the Walla Walla Valley to fully apply biodynamic methods. In the winery, the winemaker employs unique agricultural equipment, especially designed by a Burgundy blacksmith, and also relies on horses. The Syrah vines thrive in a balanced, healthy environment, drawing all the nutrients and energy they require from the soil.
The rich red colour reveals a complex, expressive nose, with fruity and spicy aromas mingling with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the fine tannins delicately lead to a round and powerful finish. This cuvée can be enjoyed young and also after several years of cellaring.
About the Producer Cayuse
French hunters planted vines in the Walla Walla Valley in the mid-19th century, in the state of Washington. Christophe Baron, young winemaker from Champagne chose this valley to start his own domain in 1997. It now runs over 18 hectares and is planted with several grape varieties, with a majority of Syrah and Grenache. Christophe Baron has cultivated the vineyard according to biodynamic principles since 2002.
