Neisson Zetwal (70cl)

The wine

Zetwal Rum is a poetically infused eau-de-vie, named after the Creole word for ‘star’. Majestic and refined, this spirit comes in a superb crystal decanter created by an agency specialising in design for spirits called Secret Magnifique. This masterpiece was crafted in Portugal by the Vista Alegre crystal works. The spirit is a meticulous blend of outstanding vintages from the House of Neisson. This nectar is produced in limited quantities.
The slightly shiny amber colour unveils a bouquet of sugar cane and candied fruit harmoniously combined with an elegant woodiness. With aeration, nuances of exotic fruit and ginger balance beautifully with captivating aromas of geranium blossom. The lively, racy palate, with fine hints of liquorice and honey, quickly develops into citrus flavours, complemented by delightful touches of salted butter caramel. The long, balanced finish reveals delicate aromas of candied apricots and quince jelly.

About the Producer Neisson

The Neisson distillery was founded in Carbet by the Neisson brothers in 1932. Jean, who was a trained chemical engineer, was committed to improving distillation techniques, as was reflected by the installation of the distillery’‘s Savalle still, originally built in 1938 and modified by Jean himself. The estate remains in family hands and is today run by Claudine and her son Grégory. In 2013, the estate began gradually converting to organic farming, supported by research into different cane varieties, plots and agricultural techniques. Neisson is rightly considered one of Martinique’‘s most innovative and ambitious distilleries. Neisson rum is instantly recognizable by the signature Zepol’‘Karé bottle with square shoulders.
