Lot presentation

Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Au Closeau Domaine Drouhin-Laroze 1971

The wine

Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Au Closeau is so named because it is surrounded by a wall and thus forms a clos. This lieu-dit, which is 80% owned by Domaine Drouhin-Laroze, is located south of Gevrey-Chambertin, opposite Mazis-Chambertin. This wine has been élevaged in 40% new oak barrels. It is indulgent on the nose, with notes of red and black berries, vanilla and spices. It has a distinctively rounded, meaty, silky texture.

About the Producer Drouhin-Laroze

Domaine Drouhin-Laroze has been a family domaine for more than a century and a half, with many prestigious appellations in premier crus and grand crus and therefore an exceptional heritage. Today Philippe and Christine Drouhin and their children manage the domaine.
