Collioure La cuvée de Claude Domaine Nénu - Rasmus Aamand Olesen Vin de deux mains 2017

The wine

Cuvée de Claude is a blend of Grenache noir and Mourvèdre crafted by Domaine Nénu, an estate run by a young, Danish producer. After undertaking studies in biology, he moved to Banyuls where he learnt the wine-making trade. Enamoured with the region, he created his own domain of completed vines in 2017. Since then, he has been crafting cuvées with a process that bans all chemical products and additives, in the vineyard and winery alike.
This cuvée should be kept for a few years in the cellar. This is certainly a powerful wine, though this strength is balanced out by a Mediterranean freshness. In the glass we find a garnet red wine with an intense aromatic bouquet. Its primary notes include red and black fruit, garrigue, and gentle spices. In time, it will develop deeper notes of leather and musk.
