Beaune Les Prévoles Henri et Gilles Buisson (Domaine) 2017
The wine
Les Prévoles is made from 50-year-old vines grown in soils rich with chalk, clay, and colluvium. The domain has banned all pesticides and herbicides, opting for careful soil work that includes ridging, ploughing, and combing. Disbudding is also carried out to manage the yields. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted both in the vineyard and the winery. The wine is then matured in French oak casks (10% new wood) before bottling with a light filtration. In the glass this cuvée has a cherry-red hue. Its aromatic bouquet is defined by red fruit and violet. As for the palate, we find a lovely balance of power and roundness. You should enjoy this wine within its first ten years. Its volume and intensity will pair nicely with a red meat dish.
About the Producer Henri et Gilles Buisson
Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson is run by a very old family from Saint-Romain where it has been established since the 12th century. Franck and Frédérick, Gilles Buisson's sons, who currently run the family vineyard, embody the eighth generation of wine growers. The 19 hectares of vineyards that they have converted to organic farming extend over Saint-Romain, Pommard, Grand Cru Corton Charlemagne, Volnay Premier Cru and Beaune. This domaine produces high quality, classy and complex wines with good aging potential.
