Collioure Sur lies Domaine Nénu - Rasmus Aamand Olesen Vin de deux mains 2017

The wine

This white Collioure ‘sur lies’ is a single-varietal Grenache gris that, as its name suggests, was matured on lees. Vinified naturally by a producer dedicated to eco-friendly methods, the grapes were grown organically and aged in French oak casks. Whilst additives are banned during vinification, sulphur is added in a homeopathic dose during bottling in order to stabilise the wine.
In the glass we find a flavourful wine carried by aromas of fruit and flowers, along with a hint of citrus. Round on the palate, the mouthfeel is lifted by a lovely freshness. It can be savoured with fresh goats’ cheese, poultry with olives, or perhaps a citrus sea bream.
Note that the label of this bottle is not stuck on but attached with a recyclable elastic band.
