Lot presentation

Barossa Valley Torbreck The Factor 2004

The wine

This cuvée is an homage to the generations of grapegrowers who planted Syrah in Barossa Valley in the 19th century. The Factor has a rich, full texture and offers up a wide aromatic palette, combining ripe fruits and spices such as pepper. Light tertiary notes of tobacco and cocoa beans lend a magnificent finish to the wine.

About the Producer Torbreck

Founded in 1995 by Dave Powell, Torbreck in now one of the emblematic domains of Barossa Valley. The founder, a Rhone enthusiast, took inspiration from this region by planting a majority of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne, with a little Sémillon. In order to preserve the grapes, the harvest is brought to the vats by gravity, and the yields are limited, favouring quality. Appreciated for their richness and the excellent craftsmanship that goes into the wines, Torbreck is one of the leading producers of its region.
