The wine

A first batch of Kininvie 17 year old distilled in 1996 matured in American oak casks (80%) and sherry casks (20%). Normally used in the blends of William Grant & Sons, Monkey Shoulder in particular, Kininvie has also been bottled in its own right under the name Hazelwood since 2006 and under its own name since 2013. The first bottling of Kininvie under this name was a 23 year old reserved for the Taiwanese market. This 17 year old is the second, released for the international market.

About the Producer Kininvie

A young distillery founded in 1990 by William Grant & Sons, located a few metres from the Balvenie distillery, with which it shares a particularly rich style. Very rarely released as a single malt, its whisky is used in Monkey Shoulder, one of the highest selling blended malts in the world.
