This is a clean, precise, very direct, masculine wine, with a good capacity to age. On the palate it is silky and ripe. The nose presents aromas of ripe fruit.

The Chateau Colombier Monpelou's wine is made at this property according to very traditional methods. Among Pauillac's model crus bourgeois, it was made a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the June 2003 revision of the classification.
