The wine
A Triple Sec from the Bologna-based company Sarti, which produced liqueurs, bitters and Italian brandy, founded in 1855. We estimate this bottle to be from the 1950s.
About the Producer Sarti
The Sarti distillery was founded in Bologna in 1885 and the company registered under the name Luigi Sarti & Figli in 1931. It produced many spirits and liqueurs, including the very popular I Tre Valetti. In 1943 during WWI, the distillery was destroyed by bombing targeting the nearby train station, and then rebuilt in 1947. Large-scale advertising campaigns, such as those for Biancosarti in the American TV series Kojac helped build the group’‘s success. Sarti and its brands were bought by Campari in the 1970s.
