Haig Of. John Haig & Co Ltd Gold Label
The wine
A flask of Haig Gold Label from the 1960s/1970s. The Gold Label brand is one of the oldest brands of Scotch whisky in the world. Several bottlings in the range used the same back label, which explains the engraving from the deluxe 12 Year Old Dimple on the back of the flask.
About the Producer John Haig & Co.
John Haig & Co is widely considered one of the greatest dynasties of Scotch whisky. Shortly after its creation, it began distilling grain spirit in a column still, becoming one of the main producers. The company is also part of the group behind the creation of Diageo’s predecessor the Distillers Company Limited (DCL) in 1877. More recently, its heritage inspired the launch of the single grain whisky Haig Club in 2014.
