Littlemill 21 years 1992 Part des Anges Closed Distilleries One of 201 - bottled 2013
The wine
A Littlemill 21 year old distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2013 by the independent bottler Part des Anges for the Closed Distilleries range. Founded in 2005 by Thierry Richard and Laurent Buob, this small retailer offers a selection of whiskies, champagnes and cognacs. Designed to promote small producers and unusual products, the bottlings in the collection never fail to impress. Whether it’’s recently disgorged champagne, Grande Champagne cognac bottled without added colouring, or single grain whisky from a closed distillery, the informed amateur in search of rare and exceptional spirits will always find something to please them.
About the Producer Littlemill
Scotland, Lowlands. Distillery closed. Owner: Loch Lomond Group
Closed in 1994 and ravaged by fire in 2004, Littlemill's most prosperous years - compared to the period that followed - ran until the end of the 1990s.Despite the evident young age of the classic versions released by the distillery, ranging from 5 to 8 years, some vintages interspersed the 80s and 90s, including a 1964 and a 1975 vintage presented in a stocky, green bottle (1990s). These were accompanied by two very rare 30 year old versions released at the very start of the 1980s (distilled in the early 50s), including one limited to 87 decanters worldwide produced for the Italian importer F&G Bruino, with an ABV of 38.5%.
