Lot presentation

Knockando 1965 Of. Extra Old Reserve bottled 1990 Diateo Import

The wine

A Knockando distilled in 1965 and bottled in 1990. Since the early 1970s, Knockando has released a vintage bottling every year, initially all aged for 12 years, then with no age statement. Other older versions also exist, bottled in decanters similar to this.

About the Producer Knockando

Scotland, Speyside. Distillery operational. Owner: Diageo

France has always been a popular market for Knockando. Its single malt perfectly embodies the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland, even adopting certain practices from the world of wine and cognac, such as the “Extra Old” appellation and vintage. It is therefore possible to trace the development of Knockando's style, characterized by bourbon cask maturation, across the decades by focusing on four pivotal ages, 12, 15, 18 and 21, all bearing a vintage. Paradise for any collector.A few rare versions matured entirely in ex-sherry casks are also available in very limited series, including a Knockando 25 Year Old limited to 4,758 bottles worldwide and the very rare Knockando 20 Year Old for Aberdeen University.
