Lot presentation

Napa Valley Dominus Estate Napanook Christian Moueix 2016

The wine

Dominus has been producing this cuvée – called Napanook – since 1996. This blend of Bordeaux grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc) is already disconcertingly indulgent in its early years. It is grown in the historic parcels of Napanook, which have been chosen for their ability to produce lively, fruity, silky wines. Even so, it will keep for about ten years.

About the Producer Dominus Estate

In the 1960s, Christian Moueix, who was a student in the United States, analysed the unique potential of Napa Valley with close interest. Since then, his experience, know-how and attention to detail have allowed him to recreate another great wine: Dominus, which has been produced since 1983 in Yountville, in the unique Napanook terroir. Christian Moueix initially joined forces with the two daughters of the previous owner, John Daniel. He eventually bought up the entire domaine in 1995.
