Lot presentation
Château Poumey 1970
The wine
To make this wine, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot are vinified by gravity under strict temperature controls. The wine is then raised in new French oak barriques which bestows toasty, spiced notes to the intense fruit aromas of the Merlot. Enjoy within ten years.
About the Producer Château Poumey
Château Poumey is one of Bernard Magrez's (dubbed Mr. 47 Chateaux) many properties. The domain was created in 1784 but only began producing wine at the end of the 19th century thanks to an English négociant. Eight hectares of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sauvignon grow on gravel soils. A rising star!
