Ladyburn 1973 Of. Vintage Single Cask n°3172
The wine
A 27 year old single cask Ladyburn (#3172) distilled in 1973 and bottled in 2000. This edition was part of 18 single casks bottled in the same year for a total of 3,000 bottles.
About the Producer Ladyburn
The Ladyburn distillery was built in the West Lowlands in 1966 by William Grant & Sons in its Girvan complex. At the time, it was common practice to build malt distilleries inside grain distilleries. Ladyburn was originally used as an ingredient in the group’s blends and to take pressure of Glenfiddich, which was beginning to gain renown as a single malt. Ladyburn was eventually dismantled in 1975 when Girvan was expanded. Ladyburn bottlings are rare, even among independent bottlers.
