Crozes-Hermitage Lises (Domaine des) Domaine Equis 2020

The wine

Maxime Graillot (son of Alain Graillot) has made it a point of honour to prohibit all chemical products in his vineyards. The Syrah in this Crozes-Hermitage is harvested by hand, de-stemmed, vinified in open vats and matured in barriques (10% new wood). With its full flavours, elegance, character and dense texture, this cuvée remains faithful to its maker’s reputation for refined and high quality wines. And as you would expect, it only gets better with age!

About the Producer Domaine des Lises

Maxime Graillot, son and proud heir of Alain Graillot, decided to start up his own domain to the south of Tain-l'Hermitage. It is renowned for its exclusive Syrah vine population, stretching over five hectares of Crozes-Hermitage and grown according to traditional and environmentally respectful methods. Yields are controlled to around 35 (even 40) hectoliters per hectare and the soil is cultivated by plough. Having been inspired by the various wine houses he has worked for abroad, Maxime Graillot is now producing excellent wines which are gaining increasing recognition. One to watch.
