Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots Mugneret-Gibourg (Domaine) 1988
The wine
Les Chaignots is a treat of a wine: smooth and well structured, with a perfectly ripe fruitiness that elevates it to the rank of an exceptional delicacy. It stands out for its fine ability to age.
About the Producer Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
