About the Producer Silver Oak Cellars

Silver Oak Cellars was born from the friendship between two young men: Ray Twomey Duncan, a wealthy entrepreneur from Colorado, and Justin Meyer, a passionate winemaker. In 1972, they founded their estate in Oakville, in the heart of Napa Valley. Their ambition was bold: to craft great, age-worthy wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, matured in oak casks. They succeeded, and their Cabernets soon became iconic representatives of Californian wine across the world. In 2006, the vineyard was destroyed by a devastating fire, an event that gave the owners the opportunity to rebuild a new, modern and environmentally responsible winery. For nearly 20 years now, sustainability has been a central concern at the estate, which today has more than 2,500 solar panels. The 200 hectares of vines are farmed using practices designed to reduce the environmental footprint while producing authentic wines.
