Lot presentation

Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles vignes Perrot-Minot 1985

The wine

This cuvée is distinguished by its origin in chalk, clay, and marl soil and sloped exposure to the east. After being matured for 12-14 months in oak barrels, the wine presents a deep, almost mysterious profile. It will happily age for several years in the cellar.

About the Producer Domaine Perrot-Minot

The domaine’s history began in the 19th century with the generation of Amédée Merme who attempted to expand the family property. In 1902, Armand Merme took over and made many innovations in the field of vinification. The name Perrot-Minot was associated to the domaine in 1963, when one of Armand Merme’s four daughters married Henri Perrot-Minot. They took over the reins when Armand Merme passed away. Since 1993, their son Christophe Perrot-Minot (a wine broker for seven years) has run the domaine and still does today. His goal is to optimise the work and quality of the wines, thus carrying on the family tradition. The domaine has 13 hectares of vines distributed throughout the Côte de Nuits in villages, premier crus and grand crus which it completes by purchasing some grapes in Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. These fine wines express the identity of each of these different terroirs. A magnificent name of the Côte de Nuits.
