The wine

Yann Durieux runs this estate, having taken his first steps?–?for around ten years, no less!?–?at the famous Prieuré Roch. He and his partner Christina took over the three-hectare family estate and now produce a red Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits from Pinot Noir, the region’s typical and flagship grape variety. Growing in an oceanic climate with semi-continental influences, the Pinot Noir vines are encouraged to draw the nutrients they require to thrive from soils consisting of clay and limestone, by means of organic and biodynamic cultivation methods that precede low-intervention vinification processes. The relatively low yet highly concentrated yields are worked in whole bunches, fermentations are triggered by native yeasts and inputs have no place in the process. The wine reveals a vibrant ruby-red colour, bursting with luscious fruit leading to a juicy palate structured by crisp tannins. A fine introduction to the expertise of this meticulous estate.
