Assemblagle Pinot Noir Chardonnay Gaspard Brochet
The wine
Gaspard Brochet, a rising star in the Champagne region, combines his Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes beautifully to produce a fresh, fragrant cuvée that perfectly encapsulates the region’s prestigious terroir. After being picked at optimum ripeness, the grapes are meticulously sorted and transported to the winery, where they undergo a traditional, low-intervention winemaking process. Alcoholic fermentation is triggered by yeasts naturally present in the berries. The lengthy ageing process is completed in oak casks, with sulphur only used in minute quantities.
The sparkling, clear colour, with fine, consistent bubbles, unveils a balanced aromatic combination of delicate ripe yellow fruit aromas and subtle hints of hazelnut. The ample, fresh palate affirms the elegance of the nose while building to a flavoursome and persistent finish. This cuvée can be aged for several years.
About the Producer Gaspard Brochet
Gaspard, the son of winemaker Vincent Brochet, decided to leave his job as a graphic designer in 2014 to study oenology. In 2016, he took over the family business, inheriting an estate with a 70-year history of producing outstanding Champagnes. Thanks to his unique expertise and this substantial heritage, Gaspard now tends to his more than three hectares of vines, located in Sacy, Écueil and Villers aux Nœuds, in the heart of the iconic terroir of the Montagne de Reims. Vincent recognises the environmental issues at stake and is keen to preserve the land he loves so much, and has a sustainable and balanced approach to viticulture. The vineyard holds the French Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value) certification. He has banished all chemical fertilisers and weedkillers from his vines, and has begun converting to organic viticulture in 2021. The Champagnes produced by Gaspard Brochet, some of which bear his name and others his father’s, are energetic and elegant, reflecting the terroir of the Champagne region.
