Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Le chiuse 2017
The wine
Le Chiuse is a Tuscan estate located south of the commune of Montalcino. It was created by Simonetta Valiani and her husband Nicolo Magnelli. The estate presents us with a very fine Brunello-di-Montalcino produced from Sangiovese carefully cultivated according to organic principles. In the winery, the identity of the terroir and the grape variety are preserved through meticulous and rigorous low-intervention vinification. These include fermentation triggered by native yeasts and ageing in large oak casks (20 hl) from the forests of Slavonia for a period of nine months.
Designed for ageing, the wine reveals an especially intense ruby-red colour with concentrated, ripe aromas. These include hints of balsamic, laurel, plum and jammy red and black fruit. The tannins are abundant and velvety.
