Coteaux Varois en Provence L'Alibi Les Terres Promises 2012
The wine
A blend of Grenache and Syrah, this is an energetic wine with lots of fruit and a touch of spice. It is produced from 20 year-old vines on three parcels of stony clay-limestone soil. Once harvested, the grapes are de-stemmed but not crushed to preserve their red fruit aromas; the wine is then matured in vats and barrels. Decanter before serving and pair with Iberico ham or ewe’s milk cheese and black cherry jam.
About the Producer Les Terres Promises
Jean Christophe Comor started producing his certified organic wines in 2004, following a herculean effort cutting down trees, clearing stumps and preparing the land for replanting vines! One-time parisien and professor at the prestigious Sciences Po university, his winemaking whim has well and truly paid off; now producing wines with a unique character, elegance and complexity and in a style which improves with each vintage. One to watch.
