Volnay 1er Cru Santenots Benjamin Leroux 2019

The wine

The Volnay Premier Cru grows in the prestigious Santenots terroir in Burgundy and embodies both the excellence of this region as well as the prestige of the appellation. The organic farming techniques used in the vineyards are applied to preserve this unique terroir. At the winery the harvested grapes are carefully vinified and matured in French oak casks, giving the wine an intense and rich character.
The radiant red colour unveils luscious aromas of berries such as blackberry, cherry, and raspberry, underlined by subtle aromas of spice and flowers. The palate presents refined, balanced tannins which provide a lovely foundation. Its silky texture reveals notes of red berries with earthy undertones. This cuvée can be enjoyed young, though it does present a fantastic opportunity for cellaring.
