Bandol Château Romassan Coeur de grain Domaines Ott 2000
The wine
A racy, full-bodied rosé from Château Romassan. Its blend of Mourvèdre grapes bring body and ageing potential whilst the Grenache and Cinsault respectively offer fruit and vinosity. It shows a delicate pale hue with citrus and white-flower notes opening on the the nose and a lively, fruit-forward palate. A uniquely elegant cuvée.
About the Producer Romassan
Owned by Domaines Ott since 1956, Château Romassan has 74 hectares of vines, located just below the village of Castellet, in the heart of the Bandol appellation. The 18th century buildings, a former monastery of the monks of Saint Victor, has been very well preserved, and the vineyard has been completely restructured over the last thirty years. Jean-François and Christian Ott, the great grandchildren of its founder, Marcel Ott, have managed the property since Champagne Roederer acquired a 66% stake in 2004.
