Wine for sale: André Robert

André Robert
Champagne André Robert is a multi-generation family business, which was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Robert. Chardonnay naturally dominates the blends as the Champagne House is located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, with barrel ageing adding an extra layer of complexity and finesse. Discover this magnificent rising Champagne star!
The vineyard now covers 14 hectares, with plots classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. While all three classic Champagne varieties are cultivated – Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay – it is the latter that steals the show across the range. This grape variety, the star of the Côte des Blancs, runs deeply through the DNA of the Robert family wines given that the estate is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Sustainable viticulture is at the heart of the estate’s philosophy, with HVE (High Environmental Value) certification reflecting their deep respect for the land and living.
Another distinctive feature of the estate’s house style is the influence of wood. André Robert is indeed one of few Champagne producers to vinify in barrels. This approach undeniably imparts greater complexity to the wines, reflecting the slow micro-oxygenation and subtle woody notes that develop from barrel ageing.
Bertrand Robert took over the reins of the estate in 1981, joined by his wife Colette in 1990. Their daughter Claire, the fifth generation, came aboard in 2013 and gradually assumed leadership. In 2016, her husband Jean-Baptiste Denizart became part of the team, and since 2019, the couple has been managing operations together.
