        Craigduff is renowned throughout the world for producing whiskies of the highest quality, thanks to a unique expertise that requires rigour and passion. To create each of these iconic eaux-de-vie, the distiller adheres to a lengthy and meticulous production protocol. Three ingredients are key to producing these eaux-de-vie. Barley, yeast and water. First, the barley is moistened and then dried before being finely ground into a fine flour. After allowing the powder to settle with water, the yeast is added to kick-start the essential fermentation stage. This transforms the sugar into alcohol. Next, the liquid is distilled two or three times in a traditional alembic to produce a clear, highly aromatic pure alcohol with a high proof. Finally, the distillery ages the eaux-de-vie in wooden barrels so they can develop all their delicious aromas.
