Wine for sale: Gachot-Monot
Gachot-Monot
Established in 1890 in Corgoloin, a charming village located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, the estate has seen five generations of winemakers pass through its ranks. Over the years, the estate has been shaped by the work of two women. Marguerite Monot ran the family business from 1952 to 1978 and her only daughter Marie-Thérèse, with the help of her husband Jean-pierre Gachot, undertook extensive renovation work, replanted the vines and gave the estate the name we know today. In 1993, Damien Gachot returned to his mother’s family estate, after a ten-month spell in California where he gained a wealth of experience in winemaking. Today, Damien and Liselotte Gachot manage 18 hectares of vines in the communes of Corgoloin, Comblanchien, Nuits-St-Georges and Saint-Aubin. Planted mainly with Pinot Noir, the estate cultivates its vines with the greatest respect for the soil and biodiversity.
