Wine for sale: Jaffelin
Jaffelin
The history of Maison Jaffelin goes hand in hand with that of the Collégiale Notre Dame de Beaune. For centuries, Maison Jaffelin, formerly known as Maison du Chapitre, housed the wines of the Collegiate and the Church. In 1816, the cellars were sold to new owners, marking the beginning of a new era as the two Jaffelin brothers established their own wine trade business. Over the years, the business quickly came to be regarded as the smallest of the great Burgundy houses, offering wines of sublime quality from the region’s finest terroirs. In 2004, extensive renovation and modernisation work was undertaken to create a vat room equipped with cutting-edge equipment. This is where Marinette Garnier, the company’s oenologist and winemaker, displays all her savoir-faire in the heart of Beaune’s historic centre. And every year, many of these great Burgundy wines are awarded prizes in the most prestigious competitions.
