Bordeaux | 1944 vintage
The weather conditions were good throughout the year except during the harvest. The rain in September resulted in an average vintage in general with relatively supple wines, lacking colour. The reds were fine wines, pleasant and light, and were quite sought after in the fifties. Today, these wines have started to decline and are a touch on the thin side. A rainy harvest produced a fairly good but irregular year for sweet wines. These pleasant wines are light and fairly sappy.
