These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. Meursault is undoubtedly the capital of Burgundy white wines. Some Premiers Crus are world renowned (Les Perrières, Les Charmes, Les Poruzots, Les Genevrières, Gouttes D’Or) and all combine subtlety and strength and the option to be enjoyed young or a few years later. There is a small production of reds and the white Meursault have a very heady bouquet, typically bitter or dry almond, foliage, crust of warm bread, apple reinette. On the palette they are very consistent with an abundant softness, almost creamy. The taste lingers for considerable time.
