Information
Domaine de Bellivière was founded by éric and Christine Nicolas in 1995, with 5.5 hectares of vines in Coteaux-du-Loir. They gradually expanded their vineyard, buying parcels in the Jasnières appellation until their holdings amounted to a 18 hectares. In 2015, their son Clément has joined them in the vineyard and his wife Laure-Anne in 2020.They took over the estate in 2021, marking a new chapter in its evolution. Certified organic since 2008 and biodynamic under the Biodyvin label since 2011, the estate comprises around sixty parcels cultivated within a carefully preserved ecosystem, entirely free from chemical inputs. Vinification follows a natural, low-intervention approach, aimed at preserving the integrity of the fruit and the clarity of its aromas. The estate’s cuvées range from dry to off-dry depending on the vintage, consistently expressing vibrant energy, finely controlled bitterness and a distinctive purity of fruit. A rising name to watch, Bellivière crafts Chenin Blanc and Pineau d’Aunis of striking liveliness!
This cuvée is made with Chenin cultivated on a terroir of clay, flint and tuffeau. The berries are harvested by hand and vinified naturally in second, third, or fourth fill barriques. After this, the wine is matured for one year in the same containers. It has complex aromas of white fleshed fruits, white flowers, and sweet spice. The velvety palate is driven by the same flavours, and above all, a striking mineral quality that gives the wine length and finesse.
