About the producer

Of the many Colins in Burgundy, Domaine Marc Colin is perhaps the most famous. This Saint-Aubin estate asserted its reputation thanks to its high-flying whites. The winery has an impressive collection of terroirs in Chassagne, Puligny and several works of the mythical Montrachet. It is now his children, Caroline and Damien, who are at the head of the estate but they remain loyal to the property's identity. The quest for precision and accuracy is impressive, whether in the vineyard, during vinification or in the élevage. The red wines are also of a very high quality. A location which is not-to-be-missed in the Côte de Beaune.

About the wine

Perched on the upper slopes of the village of Saint-Aubin, the south-west-facing parcel enjoys ideal ripening conditions. The estate’s vines, planted on this steep limestone plateau in 1975 and 1990, lie within one of the village’s most distinctive sites. Long held in high regard in Saint-Aubin, the estate produces a cuvée each year that more than holds its own compared to those of its distinguished neighbours.
Situated high above Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin may not share their renown, yet its wines consistently reach an exceptional standard of quality. Domaine Marc Colin & Fils is no exception, quite the contrary. Renowned for precisely judged ageing, around ten months for this wine , the estate captures and conveys the full mineral intensity of its terroir. Airy yet powerful on the palate, the wine offers a pure expression of both the house style and its terroir. Those looking for a terroir-driven wine of great elegance, marked by well-judged Burgundian oak ageing, will be drawn to its mouth-watering palate and complex bouquet, layering citrus fruits, delicate pastry notes, floral nuances and a stony character. Burgundy devotees, this cuvée epitomises the estate that has helped restore Saint-Aubin to the stature it richly deserves.
