Information
Domaine François and Antoine Jobard was created from the Pierre Jobard domaine shared in 1971 between the two children, Charles and François. A great winemaker, François Jobard produces wines just like his predecessors: classical, not very effusive, sound and of great purity. Moreover, the wines age extremely well.
Running his father’s domain, Antoine Jobard has crafted a Meursault that deserves your careful interest. The domain is reputed for its production of classic, well-made Meursault cuvées. The Chardonnay used for these wines is grown with laudable, inherited skill. The soil is ploughed in order to encourage microbial life and to get the roots to push deep into the earth for their nutrients. Herbicides are banned and yields are controlled by close pruning. The wine is matured for at least a year and a half in used casks that don’t mark the taste. Well-structured, it will benefit from a few years of ageing in the cellar.
In the glass, this cuvée has a golden hue and a complex bouquet. We find aromas of white flowers, white fruit, nuts, rose, citrus, and patisserie. These introduce a generous, savoury palate that lingers on a mineral underscore.
