    About the producer

Established at the heart of Anjou's Coteaux de Layon, Olivier Lejeune learnt the tricks of the trade for ten years at Felton Road, the famous Central Otago domain in New Zealand that never ceases to impress critics. In 2017, he met Mark Angeli of Ferme de la Saisonnière, a fervent advocate of natural wines. This learning experience was followed by a meeting with a regional star, Richard Leroy, from whom Olivier purchased a few parcels. He brought a second burst of life to the vines, having spent a whole year working the 3 hectares with a pickaxe. In terms of the soils, this is a superb terroir where we find schist veined with quartz and volcanic rock. The land is treated with eco-friendly principles in mind. His first cuvée, Poësis, is a pure Chenin that saw immediate success, much like the 100% Cabernet Franc Pelo cuvée. You won't want to miss a single vintage!

    About the wine

Poïèsis is the first cuvée crafted by the young vintner Olivier Lejeune who, after having travelled south-east Asia working in IT, turned to the craft of wine making. Since 2017, he has been settled in Anjou where he cultivates regional varietals like Grolleau, Chenin, and Cabernet Franc.
The vines enjoy a superb terroir made up of varied soils, including schist, quartz, and volcanic rock. These are laboured thoroughly and chemical products are banned.
This cuvée is a single-varietal Chenin with a limpid, yellow colour. Its nose carries notes of white fruit (apple, pear, peach) and nuts (almond, hazelnut). This bouquet introduces a palate that is lively and elegant. We recommend uncorking this wine a little while before serving it with a rich dish like fish or spaghetti carbonara.
