Information
Domaine Gérard Schueller extends across six hectares of vineyards, farmed as naturally as possible while avoiding unnecessary intervention. Gérard and his son Bruno work each parcel with meticulous care, never taking the easy route, to craft wines that express their terroir with clarity, combining remarkable depth and balance.
This pure Pinot noir comes from Alsace domain Gérard Schueller, an ambitious producer not yet well-known of the wider public. The cuvée comes from the lieu-dit Bildstoeckle, where the thirty-year-old vines grow in a chalky terroir. The grapes are left to ripen well before being harvested at optimal maturity.
The grapes macerate for around three weeks before maturing for two years in demi-muids. There is no sulphur added and the wine is not filtered.
This cuvée has a nice acidity and a strong character. It is balanced and deep with aromas of red fruit, especially strawberry.
