Domaine Prieur is owned by the Labruyère family who also own several other estates including Domaine Labruyère. The estate has become established thanks to the Labruyère-Prieur company selecting the most beautiful wines and grapes. This results in profound wines, aged with the same care as the wines from the other estates, paying attention to the finest details and using the abundance of expertise available. Leaving no doubt that these are Grand Crus.
An excellent example would be this Charmes-Chambertin from a Grand Cru situated in the Gevrey-Chambertin area which takes advantage of being located just below the famous Chambertin Grand Cru. Its light clay soil with hard rocks produces a powerful wine, armed with abundant minerality. This is exactly the style of wine that the Labruyère-Prieur company produces. These wines reveal a great Burgundy style, classic and timeless, wines to be kept for years that can also be enjoyed when young. Excellent on all accounts.
