About the producer
Don Julio was founded in 1942 by Don Julio González at the age of just 17. With the help of funding provided by local investors, he set up his own business and built the distillery La Primavera in 1947. The Don Julio brand, however, was not created until 1987.
About the wine
Don Julio 1942 is a tequila produced in limited quantities from blue agave. After distillation in small stills, it is aged in bourbon casks for two and a half years. Its name is a reference to the year Don Julio Gonzalez founded his tequila distillery.
