Information
Domaine Marc Roy is a small family vineyard of 4 hectares, divided into 12 parcels and located in Gevrey-Chambertin. Since 2005, it has been managed by Alexandrine, Marc's daughter and representative of the 4th generation of the family on the domaine. The range of wines is restricted but of high quality.
Gevrey-Chambertin, an iconic appellation on the Burgundy wine scene, produces elegant, delicate and complex red wines exclusively crafted with Pinot Noir grapes. The vines, growing at altitudes ranging from 100 to 350 metres, climb on perfectly exposed marl soils. Convinced of the positive effects on the vines, the wine and the soil, the estate practises sustainable viticulture. Once hand harvested and carefully sorted, the grapes are vinified in casks following traditional methods with little intervention. This cuvée then matures for 18 months in oak casks, with 50% new wood, before being bottled.
The dark red colour reveals an intense bouquet with aromas of very ripe red and black fruit, complemented by hints of spices and toasty notes. On the palate, the frank, fine tannins elegantly lead to a perfectly balanced lingering finish. This cuvée offers several beautiful years of ageing potential.
