    Information
    About the producer

Frédéric Magnien represents the 5th generation of wine growers of his family. He created his trading house in 1995 and is also in charge of the family domaine (Michel Magnien). He carefully selects his wine growers and the plots that interest him; he manages the harvest personally with his team. He is best known for his red wines but for several years he has also produced white. His wines are characterised by their concentration and their solid character.

    About the wine

Frédéric Magnien, the fifth generation to head the Michel Magnien family estate, set up his own trading house in the 1990s. Here he brings us this Échézeaux Grand Cru produced from Pinot Noir vines cultivated in an oceanic climate with a semi-continental influence, drawing all the nutrients necessary to thrive by digging their roots deeply in the soil. This soil consists of Bajocian marl, stones sensitive to frost and red silt.
Designed for relatively long ageing, the wine matured in wood displays great aromatic complexity while retaining the delicacy of its tannins. After a well earned and much needed cellaring period, the wine releases notes of red and black fruit, sweet spices, leather and humus. The palate is refined and persistent. Frédéric Magnien recommends serving it with noble dishes such as hare à la royale or anything with truffles.
