Information
Frédéric Magnien represents the 5th generation of wine growers of his family. He created his trading house in 1995 and is also in charge of the family domaine (Michel Magnien). He carefully selects his wine growers and the plots that interest him; he manages the harvest personally with his team. He is best known for his red wines but for several years he has also produced white. His wines are characterised by their concentration and their solid character.
The vineyard combines biodynamic methods, designed to stimulate and invigorate the terroirs, with a natural approach involving no chemical fertilisers or pesticides. With a combination of respect for these strict rules and meticulous observation of each parcel, Frédéric Magnien yields wines of exceptional quality. In the winery, Frédéric consistently applies natural, low-intervention vinification methods. One of the distinctive practices of the estate is to mature its wines in hand-turned terracotta jars, combined with traditional cask ageing, to preserve the purity of the fruit and reflect the essence of the terroir.
The deep garnet-red colour is complemented by an intense nose characterised by rich aromas of red fruit combined with hints of spices and delicate touches of clove. The remarkably round palate displays rich aromas of mocha, leading to a lingering, flavoursome finish.
